McFarlane Aviation has launched a new brand, McFarlane Alaska, conceived to bring together popular products from Alaskan Bushwheels and Airframes Alaska and streamline the supply of aircraft parts for pilots, mechanics, and other members of the growing backcountry community.
Under the new initiative, aircraft parts from both the Bushwheels and Airframes product lines will be manufactured and supported under the McFarlane Alaska banner as part of a strategy to strengthen manufacturing, support, innovation, and product reliability.
Familiar Organization
McFarlane Alaska’s retail operations, located in Palmer, Alaska, will continue to serve as a hub where customers can purchase products from the the McFarlane Alaska product line as well as the broad Victor Sierra family of related aviation companies. The arrangement allows the company to maintain the quality and reputation of its brands while boosting product development and easing consumer access.
A list of the company’s top product lines includes Alaskan Bushwheels, fuselages for Piper PA-18s, aluminum lift struts, wheel and brake kits, and PSTOL flaps. These parts have developed reputations for strong, reliable performance under flying conditions that tend to be demanding.
Powerful Reputations
“I’m incredibly proud of the company we’ve built and the products that Alaska pilots have trusted for years,” said Sean McLaughlin, CEO of Alaskan Bushwheels and Airframes Alaska, in a news release. “McFarlane Alaska ensures the legacy of these great brands continues. Their commitment to quality and customer support makes them the right team to preserve what we’ve created and bring these products to even more pilots.”
The launch of McFarlane Alaska does not include the acquisition of Alaska Gear Company, which remains a separate company.
“Alaska has one of the most demanding aviation environments anywhere in the world, and the pilots and mechanics operating there deserve parts built to that standard,” said Victor Sierra CEO Scott Still. “Alaskan Bushwheel and Airframes Alaska have earned their reputation over decades of real-world use in backcountry conditions. Our job is to honor that and make sure these products are around for the next generation of bush pilots. We want to thank Sean and his team for trusting us to carry these brands into the Victor Sierra family.”
